Event Details

Join us for our new Big Read Book Club! Each month, we'll read one of the 12 novels & memoirs the National Endowment for the Arts features as its annual "Big Read" selections. We will meet at 10 am every fourth Saturday to discuss the book; patrons have the option of attending virtually or in person. Coffee and refreshments will be served!

Our selection for November 2022 will be the 2018 debut novel There There by Tommy Orange. A finalist for the 2019 Pulitzer Prize and recipient of the 2019 PEN/Hemingway Award, these interweaving stories follow 12 characters from Native communities as they travel to the Big Oakland Powwow, all connected to one another in ways they may not yet realize. Together, this chorus of voices tells of the plight of the urban Native American in ways never before heard.

Copies of the monthly selection will be available at the library's Circulation Desk. Please sign up below to participate in this month's discussion!
