Calling all young entrepreneurs! Sell your stuff, your crafts, your collections at the Scranton Library to earn some extra holiday money. You can sell (almost) anything you'd like- from your old stuffed animals to your Pokemon cards to your friendship bracelets. Part of a club and need to fundraise? This is the perfect opportunity to make money for the rest of the school year.
One sign up per seller (whether that's a club, a kid, or a pair of siblings/group of friends). Space is limited. Sign up is currently open to Madison residents only. You must have a library card to register, or come to the library to get a library card within a week of registration. Please leave a description of what you will be selling in the comments section of the registration form. The library reserves the right to approve or deny registrations: all applicants will be notified of their application status via email. All goods being sold must be priced at $5 dollars or under.
See more details below:
- Youth must be between 2nd Grade and 12th Grade to participate. 8th Grade and Younger must be accompanied for the entirety of the event by an adult. Groups/Teams/clubs are allowed to sell as a group.
- All applications must be turned in by Nov. 1.
- The Planning Committee has determined vendor space assignments. Each Youth Entrepreneur will be given a table and chair.
- A suggested donation of $5/table is requested prior or on the day of the event. More information on how to donate prior to the event will be included in the registration approval email. All donations that are received from entrepreneurs will go to Madison Youth and Family Services “Blizzard of Giving” program which provides gift cards to families in need for the holiday shopping season.
- Entrepreneurs are encouraged to be creative with what they offer at the market. You can sell your gently used toys, clothes, trading cards etc. AND/OR create your own craft to sell (jewelry, gifts, etc.) We are not able to sell consumables (food or drink) or weapons (toy weapons included). If there are questions, please contact the planning committee.
- The event is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. We ask that each vendor stays through the whole event, and cleans up from 1-2 p.m. on the day.
