Event Details

The Scranton Memorial Library will host a screening of the acclaimed 2019 documentary Pizza: A Love Story - a profile of our local Italian-American culinary legacy! In this feature, noted filmmaker Gorman Bechard chronicles the history of three pizza restaurants in New Haven. The three restaurants, Sally's, Pepe's and Modern, known as the "Holy Trinity" of pizza parlors, all have a long history of making Italian food with great passion. Mr. Bechard will introduce the film and answer audience questions after the screening. Local New Haven-style pizza will be served!

This program is presented through the generosity of an anonymous donor in honor of parents Domenico Pellicano and Melina (Savino) Pellicano, originally from San Panteleone, Reggio, and San Giovanni Rotondo, Puglia, Italy.
