Program Description

Event Details

Every two years the Summer and Winter Olympics bring together the best competitors in the world, but it has only been in the last 20 years that LGBTQ athletes have been in the game and out in the open. This talk will take a look at how LGBTQ athletes not only emerged from the shadows of the Olympic flame, but added a great deal of spark to the modern Olympic movement. Led by Outsports.com writer/contributor Karleigh Webb, "The
Rainbow Games" seeks to discuss this history, the present and look forward to how one of the greatest sporting events in the world is helping to foster an inclusive future in sport and society. This event is sponsored by ALA's Libraries Transforming Communities program. Please sign up below!
