The Scranton Memorial Library is participating in the NEA's Regional Book Club "The Big Read," the selection for which is Luis Alberto Urrea's acclaimed novel Into the Beautiful North. On Wednesday, October 21st at 7 pm on Zoom, we will be holding an optional kick-off event for the club! We'll discuss the club itself & our first impressions of the novel, and then we will take in a poetry reading by Martin Espada, an incredible author, poet, activist and associate of Luis Alberto Urrea.
