Program Description

Event Details

Get ready for our author visit with Jerry Craft, author of New Kid, by joining us for a community conversation about diversity and inclusion in our town and schools. Elijah Manning of Inclusive Education will be here to help facilitate the conversation. Let's talk about how to be welcoming to those that are different from us, and strategize on how to be the most inclusive town we can be! We'll learn and grow together in this age appropriate discussion about equity, racism, and diversity. Don't worry, we'll have a chance to talk about the book too!

Don't forget, if you haven't picked up your copy of New Kid, stop by the library any time while supplies last for a free book!

Come to the program prepared with questions, or send them in early to childrens@scrantonlibrary.org. Questions sent early will be kept anonymous.

PLEASE REGISTER ONE CHILD PER FAMILY. The other children in your family are welcome to join us if they are in the appropriate grade range, but there is no need to register them. Please make a note of your other child(ren)'s names and what grades they are in when registering.
