2024 Speakers

Jules and Gédéon Naudet are documentary filmmakers who captured the only footage of hijacked Flight 11 striking the North Tower and the only video footage from inside the Twin Towers on 9/11. This footage, and their compelling story, was later turned into the documentary, 9/11.

Richard Thornton is a NY Waterway Captain who participated in the largest waterborne evacuation in American history, when an estimated 300,000 to 500,000 people were transported to safety on 9/11. He also worked at the ferry during the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, the crash-landing of US Airways Flight 1549, known as ‘the Miracle on the Hudson,’ and Superstorm Sandy in 2012.

Elizabeth Cascio served for 30 years as a first responder, retiring from the FDNY in 2023. In 2018, she was promoted to FDNY Chief of Staff, becoming the first female and EMS member to rise to that position. She responded both to the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and to 9/11. In 2019, she was diagnosed with cancer tied to her work during the rescue and recovery efforts.

Joe Quinn was a senior at the United States Military Academy at West Point when his brother, James Francis Quinn, an employee at Cantor Fitzgerald, was killed when hijacked Flight 11 struck the North Tower on 9/11. After graduating, Joe served two combat tours in Iraq and a third in Afghanistan as a civilian advisor and currently holds leadership positions non-profits serving military veterans.
