Event Details

This spring marks the 60th anniversary of John F. Kennedy’s historic visit to Ireland, his ancestral home. Kennedy’s forefathers were Irish immigrants who left during the Great Famine and quickly established themselves as a political family in Boston. They were among the first Irish-Americans to hold office in the United States and became known for both their colorful personalities & their ambition. This talk will explore the history of the Kennedy family as well as JFK’s time in Ireland, including original footage of his speeches there and pictures of his ancestral homesteads. To be led by an Irish historian, Sean Murphy. Please sign up for this virtual event below!
