Join us for a wonderful concert with the Confluence Ensemble, where Celtic Nordic, and Appalachian musical traditions meet. Sit back and enjoy haunting melodies, memorable songs and cheerful dance tunes played on a host of acoustic instruments: Swedish nyckelharpa, fiolharpa, 5-string Swedish fiddle, Irish blackwood flute, octave mandola, Irish bodhran and five-string banjo. Tradtional folk musicians Jim Sirch, Willow Sirch and Gary Wikfors have performed together for many years as part of the New Haven-based dance band The Fiddleheads, and are well-known on the New England contra dance circuit. As Confluence Ensemble, they share a broad and varied repertoire that draws from Scandinavian, Irish, Scottish, and Appalachian old-time music that has been vigorously preserved and passed down over generations, along with a few of their own more recent compositions. Please note that one registration equals one seat. Please register all participants separately.
