Join us to discuss a great classic of world literature! Our selection for April 2022 will be The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. Often cited as "The Great American Novel," this humorous work focuses on the exploits of cunning young Huckleberry Finn as he travels down the Mississippi River with runaway slave Jim. This novel, controversial from the time of its publishing to the present day, is in many ways a contradiction: a book that protests against the treatment of enslaved Black people, it is also notorious for its legacy of reinforcing racial stereotypes.
