Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a Latin twist on classic tunes! Acclaimed musician Benji Kaplan will take us from Broadway to Brazil and beyond with his enchanting music in both Portuguese and English. A composer of Cuban descent who has traveled the world, Benji grew up hearing various types of music and languages and incorporates these influences into his own work. He will perform the greatest love songs of Tin Pan Alley, the original group of early Broadway songwriters that included George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, and Oscar Hammerstein, among many others. Combined with stories from his travels & his own original compositions, this will make for an enchanted afternoon of musical pleasure!

This concert is a Topically Ted Event. "Topically Ted" is a series inspired by the loves and life of Ted Mallory, founded in 2017 in honor of the eponymous Madison resident and beloved friend of the library. These special events are held quarterly and are made possible by the Mallory Family. Please sign up for this one-of-a-kind program below!
